The Account Manager will work within our Business Development team. The Account Manager will be in charge of managing the company's relationships with some portion of its customers. They are in charge of building long-term relationships with a group of customers and generally stay with customers for the length of their relationship with the company. As part of the Business Development team, the primary effort is to sign new accounts and cultivate them toward their full potential as customers, with a focus on strong brand/technical partnership to drive increased sales. Prioritizing and dedicating constant effort as the customers primary point of contact with Goal Zero, this role will have both quantitative and qualitative goals and success metrics for their assigned channels, generally planned based on the individual and cumulative potential of theiraccounts and channels and measured against the achievement of that potential. Account managers will be in charge of finding new business, be assigned prospects, given accounts, or a combination thereof. Tasks involve product training and knowledge, strategic planning, sales support, project management product design, service and support, logistics, and marketing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate as the point of contact for assigned customers
  • Help customers with orders and product knowledge through email, phone, online screen sharing, etc
  • Generate sales among customers, including upselling and cross-selling
  • Identify opportunities to grow business with existing clients
  • Onboard and integrate new accounts
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with accounts
  • Make sure client accounts receive requested products and services in a timely fashion
  • Communicate customer needs and demands to the business development team
  • Forecast and track customer account metrics
  • Prepare and clearly communicate the progress of weekly/monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal team members and departments (sales ops, warehouse, finance, PD) to ensure consistent service
  • Monitor and analyze customer's usage of Goal Zero product

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of marketing experience with agency background desirable

  • Proven account management or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Deep digital understanding
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability, and maturity
  • Ability to prioritize among competing tasks
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of website development, marketing, measurement and analytics, content management, digital marketing and internet technology
  • Excellent time and project management skills. You're always looking to improve inefficient processes
  • Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
  • Expert at Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, Salesforce, and help desk support software

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment Primary
  • Evening and weekend work as job duties demand
  • Domestic and International Travel up to 10% may be required
  • Occasionally requires lifting up to 50lbs as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
