- College degree required
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in government relations or
external/public affairsThe Purpose of Your RoleThe Director is
responsible for representing Fidelity's presence in Utah to advance
the company's business interests through government relations and
public affairs. This role is the 'face of Fidelity' in the region
and requires active engagement in community events and activities,
such as the chamber of commerce, government task forces and
committees and/or nonprofit board service. Government relations
responsibilities include partnering with team members on federal
government relations initiatives and managing all aspects of local
and state legislative affairs in Salt Lake City and Utah, including
issue tracking, advocacy on key issues and relationship management
with elected officials.The Skills You Bring

effectively toggling between associate-level and leadership, as
well as government staff and elected officials

- You can effectively advocate for Fidelity's positions
- You have a demonstrated ability to influence and engage through
written and verbal communications
- Familiarity with the Salt Lake City and Utah community strongly

- Leveraging engagement with local and state chambers of
commerce, trade associations, nonprofit partners to advance the

- Developing and implementing strategies to maintain and enhance
Fidelity's corporate and community profile in the region and
state
- Identifying, implementing, managing and fulfilling sponsorship
opportunities that advance Fidelity's regional goals
- Partnering with Fidelity Corporate Affairs/ Regional
Communications to obtain favorable news coverage that supports
corporate and regional prioritiesGovernment Relations
- Developing and implementing relationship strategies with local,
state and federal officials to educate them about Fidelity and
advance Fidelity's point of view on key issues
- Working with the Fidelity's federal government relations and
public policy teams to assess policy threats/opportunities at a
state, local and federal level. Developing advocacy plans to
address these issues
- Advocating for policy priorities with both internal and
external audiences and lobbying elected officials on legislation of
interest to Fidelity
- Serving as single point of contact for monitoring and reviewing
legislative trends and pending legislation at the state and local
level to determine potential impact to Fidelity
- Partnering with Finance, HR, Legal and Fidelity Real Estate to
monitor and manage compliance with regional incentives
programsInternal Business Value
- Supporting the Utah Regional Leadership Team on regional
priorities.
- Developing expertise on Fidelity's Utah business operations and
its specific challenges/opportunities, and creating dynamic
strategies to address and manage those needs
- Working with business development contacts (Investor Centers,
Fidelity business development and sales contacts) to understand
business goals and partner to develop integrated support
strategies; assist with introductions and relationship development
as permitted by Compliance.How Your Work Impacts the
OrganizationThe Public Affairs and Policy Group oversees Fidelity's
interactions with federal, state and local governments in the
communities where we live and work. Because many of Fidelity's
products, services, and operations were created by law, or are
subject to regulation, we play a significant role in promoting and
protecting Fidelity's values, business, and brand.Note: Fidelity is
